Hank Aaron did more than just hit home runs. Hit hit singles. He hit a lot of doubles. He knocked in a lot of runs. He collected a lot of total bases. But in addition to being the first person to pass Babe Ruth on the all-time home run list, he also joined the elite 3000 hit club on this day in 1970.
Based on all of these categories listed above, Aaron might be the greatest hitter of all time. Yet, he doesn’t seem to get credit for that. For my money, he is just that!
We will celebrate Aaron’s anniversary by quizzing you on the 3000 hit club in baseball during Wiki-Pete-ia.
Each day at 4:45 ish we play Wiki-Pete-ia on the Shemon and Sheppard Show on ESPN Southwest Florida. Be caller number 9 at 239-337-3776 or 239-337-ESPN and test your trivia knowledge. If you are not fortunate enough to be lucky caller number 9, then play at home or at work with your family and friends. Impress them with your knowledge since we have the questions and answers below. Good luck with Hostess Snack Trivia on Wiki-Pete-ia!
So let’s celebrate the greatness of Hank Aaron and everybody else who joined the 3000 hit club !
