Jimmy Buffett Day Celebrations In Key West
As you might expect, the island Buffett called home for so long has an array of activities to celebrate his life and music. There are beach parties, bar crawls, a pencil thin mustache competition and more. The Second Line Memorial Walking Parade is the highlight. It files down Duval Street and past the original Margaritaville Cafe.
Margaritaville Resort Nassau in the Bahamas is celebrating as well. They have a variety of unique margaritas and are sharing some recipes to entice a visit. Their Key West Margarita gets its color from the addition of melon liqueur. Find the recipe below if you want to throw your own celebration.
Key West Margarita
- 1.5 oz. Tequila Margaritaville Silver
- 1 oz. Du Bouchette Melon
- 2 oz. Coconut Cream
- 0.5 oz. Lime Juice

Pour all the ingredients in a shaker and pour over ice in an old-fashioned glass. Garnish with a pineapple slice.
Jimmy Buffett Day Celebrations Include New Bobbleheads
Last but not least, some new limited edition Bobbleheads are available from the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. The museum released a Margaritaville Parrot Bobblehead earlier in the year that has been a best seller. In fact, it is sold out, but more are arriving in September.
The two new Bobbleheads With A Cause are the Shark and the Lizard. They are $30 each and a portion of the proceeds are donated to Singing For Change. Pictures of the Bobbleheads are above. Cheers to Jimmy Buffett Day.
