Having fun is a pretty universal desire. Not only do we want to visit fun places, we want to live in them too. So it's a good thing for us that Florida is the number 1 most fun state in America according to new research.

The ranking comes from WalletHub. To come up with the findings their experts looked at things like restaurants and movie theaters per capita. They also considered the number of beaches, music festivals, sports, and theme parks.

Each element was assigned a numerical value then added up for the final tally. Looking at some of the parameters, it's no wonder why Florida ranked so high.

Music festivals and other events were taken into consideration in this ranking. Florida is the number 1 most fun state in the nation.

Why Florida Is The Number 1 Most Fun State In America

According to the stats, Florida has the third-most attractions per capita, and the sixth-best variety of arts, entertainment and recreation establishments.

Even though summers in The Sunshine State can be brutal, it ranked high for people who like to be outdoors. We have the 12th-best weather overall, the most marinas per capita and the second-most miles of shoreline.

Here is the top ten list of most fun states in America. The top five are likely not that surprising to you when considering the study guidelines.

  • #1 Florida
  • #2 California
  • #3 Nevada
  • #4 New York
  • #5 Colorado
  • #6 Illinois
  • #7 Texas
  • #8 Washington
  • #9 Minnesota
  • #10 Louisiana

Breaking down the study even further, Orlando and Miami are the most fun cities in the state. Cape Coral came in at #100. Everyone has a different idea of what fun is. However, it would appear you can find a place in Florida that has all that you're looking for, and then some.
