The New York Jets have an Aaron Rodgers problem. He does not look in the mirror and is woefully not self-aware of his surroundings. Take yesterday for example. He blasted his teammates on Monday for a sloppy practice.
After throwing an interception on his second play of the day he was upset at Allan Lazard for not making a catch. Fair. It happens. But the offensive line allowed several "sacks" (defenders are not allowed to touch Rodgers in practice). Center Joe Tippmann was all over the place with his shotgun snaps including one that Rodgers had to jump for. Rodgers also fell to the ground when a lineman stepped on his foot. Coming off an achilles injury one could understand why Rodgers would not want to get stepped on.
The quarterback who once told everybody to R-E-L-A-X when his former Packers team got off to a slow start was anything but relaxed Monday at Jets camp. Everything that went wrong was apparently everybody's fault but his own. Certainly (sarcasm) a 4-time league MVP who is 40 years old and hasn't played meaningful football in a year and a half while coming off a major surgery would not be at fault. Ha.
AARON RODGERS PROBLEM
But we will say it. The Aaron Rodgers problem for the Jets is Aaron Rodgers. Maybe attending a few more mandatory OTA's instead of vacationing in Egypt would have things operating a bit more smoothly right now. And, if I was a player who made sure I was at every practice instead of taking vacations I would not be receptive to vacation-boy yelling at me at practice. That is the Aaron Rodgers problem in New York.
