UConn wins back to back NCAA Men's Basketball Championships because they may have the best coach in the game in Dan Hurley. He is smart and tries to be a student of the game which means he gets better and better each year. In fact, we wonder if, when the celebrating is done, whether Hurley will be courted elsewhere, like, say Kentucky?
Or is Hurley a UConn lifer? He might be. But the amazing thing about UConn, since 1999, the school has won 6 national titles with three different coaches. In addition to Hurley, they've had Jim Calhoun and Kevin Ollie lead them to titles. And don't get us started on the women's program which is just as good.
Yes, UConn wins back to back titles to announce to the world that over the past quarter century the Huskies have been the most dominate team the sport has seen since UCLA's magical run under John Wooden.
But that doesn't mean they have been the only great team. Let's look at past recent champions during trivia on Craig Shemon and Company on ESPN Southwest Florida.
