When traveling, the last thing you want to worry about are your bags and everything inside of them and this is the airline most likely to lose your luggage.
For all the traveling I do, I'm very lucky that I've never had any issues with lost luggage. (Knock on wood!) When you walk up to that counter and hand over your bag, you just have to hope that it'll make it to your final destination. I always get the most nervous when I have a layover, it's the middle stop that freaks me out. I had a friend travel to Europe over the summer and her bags were lost, unable to even be tracked, for almost a month!
This Is The Airline Most Likely To Lose Your Luggage
The Bureau of Transportation Statistics put out their 2023 Air Travel Consumer Report that revealed one airline that is more likely to lose your luggage than any other. And it's a very popular airline that flies out of most airports: American Airlines. Over the course of 2023, out of the over 53 million bags checked, the airline mishandled over 473,000. That means that .89 bags out of 100 make it on the plane. Which really, less than 1 out of every 100 isn't really all that bad. The airline with the best track record, out of the 15 on the list, is Allegiant Air with just over 7800 bags mishandled over this last year.
5 Florida Airports Rank As Worst For Lost Luggage In US
Vacations and travel are supposed to be fun right? What could be worse then getting to your destination to find that your luggage has been lost? No one wants to wear their plane clothes any longer than they have to.
Unfortunately, it's happening all too often across the United States and apparently, especially here in Florida.
I've been a victim of lost luggage in the past and it just plain sucks. That's all there is to it. We spend so much time packing and planning, to make sure we've got everything we need for a trip. Then to find out you've got nothing, and don't know when or if your stuff will ever reach you. UGH! Super frustrating.
