Josh McDaniels joins an unusual list.  More than 500 head football coaches roamed NFL sidelines in the past 100 years.  Teams hire and fire  coaches all the time.  In fact, teams hire coaches to fire them.  Very few retire or go out on their own terms.  However, it is a bad sign to be fired  in the middle of the season.  Think about it.  The rest of the staff is usually still in place for the rest of the season.  However, the team, in most cases, feels the head coach is so undesirable they refuse to let them finish the season.  It's an embarrassment for any coach.

JOSH MCDANIELS IS EXCLUSIVE

Since the 1970 NFL merger, 89 coaches lost their jobs mid-season.  Since 2000, a team showed its head coach the door before the end of a season 35 times.  Josh McDaniels is in exclusive company regarding that stat.  Find out what it is with Trivia below or on Craig Shemon and Company on ESPN Southwest Florida.
