Downtown St Pete, along the shores of Tampa Bay, is booming. There is all kinds of new construction, great restaurants, galleries, shops and boutique hotels. In addition, it has been named one of the happiest towns in America. The iconic pier has been rebuilt and is popular for tourists and residents alike. In fact, the St. Pete Pier becomes a hot new music venue this fall thanks to a new concert series. Here is the scoop so you can plan a quick Florida getaway around one of these shows. It's an easy drive from Southwest Florida and one many people frequently make.

It's called the Rise Up St. Pete Concert Series. The same company behind this event is also behind the big Reggae Rise Up Music Festival that takes place every year at the nearby Vinoy Park.  Organizers are promising it will redefine the St. Pete Pier area as a must-visit waterfront concert venue in the Sunshine State. That is both for music lovers as well as artists.

The first show is November 4th and features The Revivalists. The last show in the series is January 20th with Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. The line up features 12 national headliners covering a wide range of musical genres. The St. Pete Pier becomes a hot new music venue this fall.
