Florida Man Accused of DUI While Maneuvering a Busted Up Golf Cart

Police chasing man on Gold Cart

Fasten your seatbelts (or golf cart seatbelts, if you have them), because we've got another crazy driver. This time from Key West, Florida. Meet our man, James Riley Jackson. This 20-year-old should do a masterclass on golf cart mayhem.

Mr. Jackson decided to swap his usual mode of transportation for something with a little more flair. He took a trusty old Key West Golf Club golf cart. Who needs a fancy sports car when you can hit the open road at a blistering 10 miles per hour?

But, hold your golf ball. It turns out, young James wasn't just out for a cruise around the course. He was on a mission, fueled by liquid courage. According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, reports started pouring in about a drunk cart driver leaving a gas station.

When the long arm of the law finally caught up with the golf cart daredevil, they were in for a real spectacle.

James's  cart looked like it had been through a demolition derby. I mean, we're talking a dented roof, a missing piece of the windshield, and front wheels that had seen better days. It's almost like he took that thing off-roading through a war zone!

Now, here's where it gets even more interesting. Not only did this golf cart prodigy go on a joyride, but he also had a stash of alcoholic beverages in tow. I guess he figured it was a BYOB event on the golf course that day. To make things even more stupid, he was underage, and he had a fake ID too! He's a one-man party machine.

And if that's not enough chaos for you, the Key West Police Department is now investigating earlier damage to the golf course and a stolen golf cart. James, you really know how to leave your mark!

Nice one James. You really are the Golf  Guzzler of Key West.

Video: Drunk Florida Man Passes Out While Driving His Boat, Narrowly Misses Swimmers On Madeira Beach

I've been boating in Florida a lot and there's one main rule. The driver needs to be sober. I don't care how drunk you get when you get to shore, but drunk boating can get very dangerous. This incident along Madeira Beach in St. Petersburg could have ended much differently.

Not sure how long he had been speeding along slumped over the wheel, but long enough that the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office helicopter was able to get over him and get this video. The boat luckily kept along the shoreline rather than heading to the beach. You can see he was close enough that he went in between the swimmers and the kayaker.

I wish the helicopter would have zoomed in so we could see the looks on the faces of the people on Madeira Beach. I'm sure some of them were just as drunk as the guy driving the boat. Back in high school we called it Mad Beach. Do they still call it that? I have about a week's worth of stories I could tell about that place, but some of the people involved are married and have families now. It wouldn't be right. I'm trying to be respectful, Brenda.

Here's the video

I love the part about the beer can on the deck. Ok, I'll stop. I don't want to spoil it.

So what's the penalty for BWI

I mean, I had to know. So from the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department, here's what he can be expecting.
