The Boston Bruins now own NHL single-season wins and points records. The Bruins beat the Washington Capitals 5-2 on Tuesday night to increase their season point total to 133 points, breaking the record for the most points in a single season in NHL.
The record was previously held by the 1976-77 Canadiens (132). It also marked their 64th win of the season, extending their single-season wins record that was set on Sunday.
With just one game left on the regular season, the Bruins are officially the fourth team (5th instance) in the modern era (since 1943-44) to have 2 or fewer winless streaks in a season.

David Pastrnak MVP candidate
David Pastrnak will have one more chance on Thursday to add to his goal total this season. He joined Phil Esposito (4x) as the only Bruins players to score at least 60 goals in a season.
Pastrnak became the first Bruins skater with 50 goals and 50 assists in the same season since Phil Esposito in 1974-75. Pastrnak has 33 multi-point games this season, the most by a Bruins skater since Joe Thornton in 2002-03 (also 33).
I can only say from a personal point of view that this is without a doubt one of the most awesome Bruins team in my lifetime. The way they have won this year in every way possible, low scoring, high scoring, tight checking, back checking, fore checking, powerplay, shorthanded, goaltending. It doesn't matter.
We will be talking about this and lots more coming up on Shemon and Sheppard today 2-6pm.
