Why Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes Is Special

Mahomes of Kansas City

Why is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes special?  Patrick Mahomes is seeking to become the 4th starting QB in NFL history to win multiple MVPs and Super Bowls, joining Tom Brady, Joe Montana and Peyton Manning.  He’s looking to reach that achievement in just his 6th season. That would be nearly half the time it took the next closest QB in Tom Brady.

Can Patrick Mahomes Snap The MVP Curse?

With Patrick Mahomes being the presumptive MVP, he’ll try to become the first QB this century to win the MVP and Super Bowl in the same season. MVPs have lost 9 straight Super Bowls since 1999 Kurt Warner won both.

Mahomes has a chance to become the first player in NFL history to win multiple MVPs and multiple championships within his first 6 seasons.  Courtesy of the Elias Sports Bureau, here’s a list of the 11 players across NBA, MLB, NHL and WNBA to win multiple league MVPs and multiple titles within their first 6 seasons:

NHL: Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr and Bobby Clarke (all 3 accomplished feat in their 6th seasons).
MLB: Joe DiMaggio, Roger Maris and Stan Musial (Musial got there in his 5th season).
NBA: Larry Bird, Tim Duncan and Bill Russell (Russell got there in his 5th season).
WNBA: Cynthia Cooper & Sheryl Swoopes (Cooper won MVP and a title in each of her first 2 seasons, Swoopes got there by her 5th season).

Mahomes Has Never Been a Playoff Underdog

Philadelphia is a 1.5 point favorite as of Monday, February 6th.  A couple notable betting streaks could be in jeopardy for Kansas City as a result.

Kansas City had been favored in 15 straight playoff games (longest streak in Super Bowl era).

Patrick Mahomes has never been postseason underdog in 13 starts, the longest streak to begin a career in the Super Bowl era and one shy of matching Peyton Manning for the longest streak in any span.

Miami Florida Woman Selling Sand That Tom Brady Was Sitting On When He Retired

Tom Brady retired from football this week and one Miami Florida woman is looking to capitalize. Tom shot the retirement video on Surfside Beach in Miami. That's near his home. If you haven't seen the video, it's posted on all his socials but I'm not going to bore you with that because it's old news. Here's the story. This is where it gets weird.

A woman who goes by betrcaroline on Tik Tok has found the spot where Tom made his retirement video in Miami. In her video, she's seen scooping the sand into a bag, the same bag that's now on Ebay. As of Saturday morning the high bid is $99,900.

To the bidder, what are you going to do with a bag of sand? Maybe if she got Tom to autograph it there'd be something there. However,  it's just a bag of sand. Do you open it? Do you smell it? What's the plan here?

Apparently there's been some knock off postings happening and the Miami Florida woman is pretty heated about it. I mean, she took the time to scoop sand in a bag, she should get paid. Right? I saw a couple of mason jars of sand that make the Tom Brady claim. It's sand!

Here's her videos she used to document her collection of the Tom Brady Butt Sand. People are weird.

Video number one.

What'd you do on that sand, Tom?
