You Were Smart To Wait on Winning Millions with the Florida Lottery

You Were Smart To Wait on Winning Millions with the Florida Lottery

Procrastinating sometimes pays off. If you’ve been playing the Florida Lottery for years and have purposely picked the wrong numbers, smart move! Winning all that money has one big drawback here in Florida… everyone finds out. You have no choice. As reported by Geno, It looks like that’s about to change.

Fox 13 reports that Florida Democrat Tracie Davis got to work after she read stories in the news about how big money lottery winners were getting targeted after word spread of their winnings. Lottery winners in Florida and Georgia have apparently been KILLED after collecting their money. And it’s not just the democrats on board with this one. In fact the bill passed it’s first hurdle by a vote of 114 to 1 in the House! There’s another bill in the Senate and then it will likely move on to a vote by the full chamber. Finally … something politicians can agree on!

The bill would keep your identity secret for 90 days if you win $250,000 or more with the Florida Lottery. That’s plenty of time to sell your house (which these days might score you another million), pack your bags and buy that remote island where nobody will ever bug you ever again. [Source: Fox 13]

That's some change that 19 year old Mendez Rodriguez from Naples could have used, since Mendez claimed a million dollar scratch off prize just yesterday.

Florida is the number one state to retire to, and if you're coming down with deep pockets, I've compiled a list of the 10 most expensive houses for sale in Naples right now.

Or maybe you just won the Powerball and want to check out houses for sale in Naples. Or a big raise at the job. No problem, but if you're looking to finance, better do it quick before interest rates go up. Financing a 30 million dollar house is roughly $131,000 a month for principal and interest. Don't forget the taxes, and since many of the homes are on or very near the beach - there's a lot more upkeep involved. That salt water takes a toll.

Many of these homes are pending or even contingent. The Naples market is still hot right now, so if you see something you like best to grab it quick. Shout out to Brandon Plotnick who did an article on "The 9 Most Expensive Fayetteville Homes". I've never been to Fayetteville but by looking at the list, a million dollars goes a lot further than it does here in Naples. Also shout out to my realtor neighbor Mark, who drives an obnoxious Black Corvette that looks like the Batmobile.

I did a search on Realtor.com for properties in Naples over $900,000 and it came back with 1,042 results. I'm way too lazy to write an article that long, so just to whittle this down, let's just look at the ten most expensive properties for sale today.

10. 625 Kings Town Dr - $19,900,000

I think it's hilarious that they listed it for 19-9.  Like, I can do 19 million 900 thousand but 20? Yeah, 20 million is just too much.

9. 3240 Gin Ln - $21,950,000

So much for "keep it under 20". This house is new construction so it's one of my favs. Like I want to buy a 'used mansion'?

8. 3300 Fort Charles Dr - $22,495,000

I'm looking at the names of these roads and none of them sound familiar. I do love this night time shot.

7. 1857 Galleon Dr - $22,500,000

This house is contingent so you may have missed your chance. I love Port Royal.

6. 3131 Gin Ln - $23,950,000

Another new construction on the same road as the last one. Been busy over there.

5. 555 Kings Town Dr - $24,900,000

This listing just went up today. Pictures aren't even up yet. Hurry!

4. 300 Capri Blvd - $24,900,000

Not seeing anything you like so far? Build your own estate on this 2.89 acre lot in the Isle of Capri. Just a short boat trip to some of my favorite places, the Snook Inn and Keewaydin.

3. 275 Gulf Shore Blvd N - $27,000,000

Sale pending on this one. Someone won the lottery before we did.

2. 1330 Galleon Dr - $27,900,000

Sale pending on this one. I like how the house wraps around so you can look through the window and wave to someone at the other end.

1. 2050 Gordon Dr - $29,990,000

The most expensive house you can buy in Naples right now and clearly my favorite on this list.

    Just look at the pictures.

    What about us renters?

I wouldn't forget you. At a very affordable $135,000 a month you can snag this beauty. Come prepared with first and last months rent. It doesn't mention a pet deposit.
