Fortnite V-Bucks Now 20% Cheaper, Plus Free 'Shooting Star' Pickaxe

With the latest Fortnite season coming to an and, Epic Games has decided to reward players with the 'Shooting Star' pickaxe, which is available in-game for free. But this isn't the biggest news as Fortnite V-Bucks is 20% cheaper now. Epic Games goes into further details about 'The Fortnite Mega Drop' in a recent blog post.

In this process, Epic has created a Direct Payment option on mobile. In that same blog post, Epic claims "when using Apple and Google payment options, Apple and Google collect a 30% fee, and the up to 20% price drop does not apply." This means that for $7.99 you can get 1,000 V-Bucks, compared to $9.99 through Apple or Google.

More Good News

Epic isn't done yet, they also announced that if you've purchased V-Bucks in the past 30 days (July 14, 2020 - August 13, 2020), you will be rewarded 20% of those purchases back in V-Bucks., according to IGN.

It's clear Epic can go toe-to-toe with Apple and Google, a luxury that not very many brands have. Will we see some form of agreement between Epic, Apple, and Google in the near future regarding mobile sales? I wouldn't be surprised, but at this point, I'm are glad to see Epic take a strong stance against these corporate giants.
