One of the best basket players to come out of New York City has lost his mother and brother due to COVID-19.

Former NBA guard Sebastian Telfair lost his mother, Erica Telfair, on Monday.

While the cause of death hasn't been confirmed, she was battling COVID-19.  Erica Telfair's passing comes one month after the 2004 Trail Blazers draft lost his older brother Dan, to COVID-19.

Telfair's cousin, Former Knicks guard Stephon Marbury spoke about how COVID-19 has affected the entire family, telling The Undefeated before Erica's passing "My aunt is fighting for her life.  Her son just passed away while she's in an induced coma.  She doesn't even know."

Both Sebastian and Ethan Telfair posted remembrances on instagram of their mother.

“Rest In Peace Mommy,” Ethan wrote on Twitter on Sunday. “Until we meet again my angel.”
