Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Saturday during a press confference that Florida k-12 schools will continue with distance learning for the remainder of the school year.
Schools have been distance learning since the late March.
DeSantis said officials spoke with several parents across the state about shutting schools down for the year, before he made the decision.
"We’ve got pretty good momentum for distance learning. It’s obviously not the ideal situation, but given where we are in the school year, we felt that that was the best decision to go forward," DeSantis said.
This is a developing story.
