Gambling Scandal Tied to NBA’s ‘NBA2K’ Tournament

When the NBA announced a players-only NBA2K tournament, sports fans naturally wanted to bet on it. Now there's a gambling scandal brewing over one of last weekend's matchups.

It turns out that the first game of the tournament - between Kevin Durant and Derrick Jones Jr. - was taped in advance, meaning some bettors could have known the results beforehand.

Sportsbooks realized something was up when they noticed the betting leaned heavily towards Jones Jr., even though Durant was considered the favorite.

One bookmaker told NBC Sports "it became obvious that someone knew the outcome of the game."
