The Forum may soon have a new owner as the Clippers' Steve Ballmer is reportedly in advanced negotiations with the Madison Square Garden Company to acquire the venue.

While neither side would confirm the story, the team told ESPN they "continue to pursue plans to build a state-of-the-art, 18,000-seat basketball arena and entertainment complex in Inglewood".

MSG has been fighting with both Ballmer and the city for the past two years over the plans, which could include construction on a land parcel one mile from The Forum.

The Clippers have a lease in place that will keep them at the Staples Center through June 2024.
