NHL Players Are Banned From Wearing Wedding Rings On The Ice, So Many Are Getting Theirs Tattooed
When suiting up to take the ice before practices and games, NHL players are required to remove all jewelry, including their wedding bands.
In response, many hockey stars have turned to getting the ring tattooed onto their finger.
"I actually really liked wearing a wedding band. But when you do what we do, we have to have it off more than we can have it on. It's just too tough, too easy to lose," admits Capitals winger T.J. Oshie.
He's not the only Caps player either. Braden Holtby, Nic Dowd, and Nick Jensen have all gotten the ink done as well. According to Dowd, "It sticks in you forever, so it's a meaningful thing to do."
