Drew Brees Plans To Re-Sign With Saints In Free Agency

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – JANUARY 05: Drew Brees #9 of the New Orleans Saints celebrates after a second quarter rushing touchdown by Alvin Kamara #41 (not pictured) against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Wild Card Playoff game at Mercedes Benz Superdome on January 05, 2020 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Even though Drew Brees will become a free agent in March, he's not planning to leave the Big Easy any time soon.

Speaking to NFL Network's Jane Slater during an interview after Thursday's Pro Bowl practice, the Saints quarterback says he will re-sign with the team he's called home for 14 years.

"It's not a matter of if it gets done; it's when," said Brees, adding, "You know obviously at this stage of my career it's not a given that I'm coming back every year but when that time comes, I'll always be a Saint.

"Regarding fellow QB Eli Manning announcing that he will hang up his cleats, Brees admits, "That day comes for all of us".
