LeBron James Gives NYC Teens Free Bicycle Access for A Year

NEW YORK, NEW YORK – JANUARY 21: Lyft Partners with LeBron James and UNINTERRUPTED to Announce New LyftUp Initiative Expanding Transportation Access for Communities in Need at Harlem YMCA on January 21, 2020 in New York City.

Teenagers at a YMCA in the Harlem section of New York City were treated to a very special visit on Tuesday afternoon.

Just ahead of the Lakers taking on the Knicks and Nets this week, LeBron James stopped by the rec hall to distribute one-year memberships to the Big Apple's bike share, CitiBike.

The NBA superstar told the kids how biking was a big part of his life growing up in Akron, Ohio and that he still rides today, reports The Athletic's Bill Oram.

USA Today reveals that each student enrolled at James' "I Promise" school receives a bicycle as well.
