Jets Kicker To Retire, Walk Away From $2.3 Million

Despite having 2.3 million reasons to stick it out for another season, Chandler Catanzaro has decided to hang up his cleats.

The Jets kicker has been struggling as of late, failing to improve his falling stats this year. He just dropped two of three extra point attempts in Gang Green's season opener to the Giants last week.

Taylor Bertolet has been called up to take over duties, who has trained with the team, as well as the Rams and Broncos, but hasn't had a shot kicking in a regular season NFL game.

Spending five years in the league, the now 28-year-old Catanzaro earned just under $6.5 million during his career.
