The Phillies were part of Wednesday's trade deadline frenzy, adding Pirates outfielder Corey Dickerson for cash considerations and a player to be named later.
Dickerson is hitting .317 with 18 doubles and 4 home runs this season. He'll help round out a Phillies outfield that has lost Andrew McCutcheon and Jay Bruce to injury and Odubel Herrera to a suspension.
The Phillies are currently six games behind the Braves in the NL East.
