Boxer Dadashev Dies from Friday's Fight Injuries

Boxer Maxim Dadashev has succumbed to the brain injuries he received during his welterweight fight against Subriel Mattas on Friday in Maryland. His injuries came from an eleventh-round knockout at the MGM National Harbor. Dadashev was 28.

Dadashev's strengthening coach and trainer both confirmed his death. Trainer Buddy McGirt told ESPN "He did everything right in training. He seemed okay but that's the sport we're in. It only takes one punch."
