Ex-Red Sox player David Ortiz ‘recovering well’ after third surgery, wife says

Former Red Sox star David Ortiz has undergone a third surgery due to complications following last month's shooting in the Dominican Republic.

Ortiz's wife Tiffany shared an update on Thursday, saying her husband is "recovering well and is in good spirits".

Ortiz was shot outside a Santo Domingo bar in what police now say was a case of mistaken identity, by a gunman who was hired to kill a friend of Ortiz' who was sitting at the same table. 14 suspects have been arrested so far in connection with the shooting.
