Wimbledon Player Fined $56,000 For Not Trying Hard Enough

Earlier this week, Australian tennis player Bernard Tomic was quickly bounced in the first round of Wimbledon. Now he's losing all of his prize money - for not trying hard enough.

On Friday, Wimbledon officials fined Tomic $56,100 - the maximum amount allowed - declaring that he "did not meet the required professional standards" in his first round match.

It's not the first time Tomic has been accused of lack of effort. In 2017, he was fined $15K for saying he was "a little bored out there" after another first-round loss.
