Chris’ Fantasies: Week 14 Waiver Wire Targets

The playoffs are finally here! Unlike real football, we get to continue to add to our roster’s when the games really count. Start looking ahead to week 15 and week 16 matchups; having an under the radar player with favorable matchups is better than the big name guy going up against the league’s best. Here are some guys with either favorable matchups, or insane opportunities as we hit the homestretch.

• Darwin Thompson, RB KC

  The Chiefs backfield is in shambles right now; Damien Williams did not play last week with a rib injury, Derryl Williams left last week's game with a hamstring injury, and Andy Reid has shown he doesn't trust LeSean McCoy enough to feature him throughout the game. Thompson had a lot of buzz around him in training camp, maybe the time is now for him to show what he's got.

• Rashaad Penny, RB SEA

  Rashaad Penny has seen an uptick in carries over the last two weeks; 29 total carries the last 2 games with 15 two games ago, and 14 against the Viking on Monday night. He has great matchups down the stretch at the Rams (13th rush defense), at Carolina (allowed a league leading 22 rushing touchdowns), and home against Arizona (24th rush defense). He's not going to overtake Chris Carson in the backfield, but 15 carries per game against eh Panthers and Cardinals are worth the roster spot.

• Zach Pascal, WR IND

  He is the only healthy receiver on the Colts roster right now, or maybe it just seems that way. Looks like TY Hilton and Eric Ebron are going to miss some more time with injury, meaning Pascal will continue to feature in the Colts passing game.

• Anthony Miller, WR CHI

  Miller is coming on over the last 3 weeks averaging over 9 targets, 7 receptions and 90.3 ypg. It is important to know that Miller isn't going to be feature consistently in the red zone, so he hold more value in PPR formats. The Bears face some average to bad pass defensed the next 3 weeks against the Cowboys, @ Green Bay and home against the Chiefs.

  Slayton's number weren't great last week against the Packers, but he did see 9 targets last game. If he sees 9 targets this week against the Eagles, next week against the Dolphins, or week 16 against the DEADskins, those numbers will be much better. Golden Tate and Evan Engram continued to be sidelined with injuries.
