It’s the home stretch before the fantasy football playoffs. You should always be looking to fill out the back end of your roster with upside players who can fill in if you’re dealt an injury blow. I think there are a couple guys on this list who could turn into starters once the playoffs roll around.

• Jacob Hollister, TE SEA

  Hollister has come on strong the last 2 weeks with 3 touchdowns over those games. He's averaging 6 targets per game over the last month. He is on bye this week, so don't drop your tight end for Hollister, but starting next week, you'll be good.

• Brian Hill, RB ATL

  Hill is going to get a $#!% ton of touches until Devonta Freeman gets back. For the next few weeks, Hill will take over the falcons backfield, and if he performs he could force the falcons into a timeshare.

• J.D. McKissic, RB DET

  McKissic is coming off a game where he touched the ball 16 times against a good Bears defense. Fellow backup Ty Johnson is in concussion protocol, and is very much questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Cowboys. McKissic still holds value, even if Johnson comes back, because he is the pass catching back for the rest of the season.
• Darius Slayton, WR NYG

  Slayton is coming off a game where he was targeted 14 times... 14! That's a massive number for the top wide receivers in the game, let alone a dude you can go snag on the waiver wire. Sterling Shepard's status moving forward is a question mark as he is in concussion protocol. The G-Men have a bye week this week, but Slayton's explosiveness will be nice to have on your team heading into the fantasy playoffs.

• Dede Westbrook, WR JAX

  Westbrook's value took a massive hit when Nick Foles went down in week 1. Foles was targeting Westbrook at an incredible rate during the preseason, and should see more targets now that #9 is behind center.

• Derrius Guice, RB WAS

  Washington is coming off a bye week, and Guice should be playing for the first time since week 1. I know it seems like a long time ago, but the Redskins made Adrien Peterson a healthy scratch that day, seemingly because they were going to ride Guice HARD. There is a different head caoch in charge, so AP may not be a healthy scratch, but former offensive line coach Bill Callahan will want to run the rock. If you have the bench spact, spend the waiver on Guice... he could pay off huge dividends on the playoffs.
