Football is back! Week 1 is in the books, and like every year, there are guys who outperformed expectations. The key to a championship fantasy football team is making the right moves on the waiver wire. Here are 6 guys that I am targeting this week:

• Jamison Crowder

  Holy volume! Crowder was targeted 17 times in the Jets loss to the Bills. he converted those 17 targets into 14 receptions for 99 yards. This guy was a PPR machine with the Redskins, and it looks like he took that with him to New York.

• Chris Thompson

  Share

  The Skins' backfield is in shambles right now; Darius Guise injured his other knee against the Eagles that'll sideline him for a few weeks, AP was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career, leaving 3rd down back Chris Thompson as the best option in Washington's backfield. Thompson was targeted 10 times in the passing game, making him a boarder line flex play in PPR formats. We will see if he is the 3-down back Sunday when Washington takes on NFC East rival Dallas.

• Mark Andrews

  Mark Andrews had a lot of preseason hype that he lived up to in week 1 against the Dolphins. 8 receptions for 108 yards and a TD was a great start. Hayden Hurst did steal some targets from Andrews, but a TE1 in John Harbaugh's offense has traditionally meant solid fantasy performances week in and week out.
• Dak Prescott

  Game 1 of Kellen Moore calling plays for Dallas went about as well as anyone could have expected. Dak had a great day going 25/32 for 405 yards and 4 TD against an okay Giants defense. He's got Washington and Miami the next 2 weeks. If you need a QB, go target Dak.

• Michael Gallup

  Share

  Gallup caught all 7 of his targets in Sunday's blowout win over the Giants. I would have liked a touchdown, but 158 yards is 158 yards. This guy is the Cowboys deep threat, so the TD's will come.

• John Ross III

  Share

  Coming off an offseason where AJ Green went down early and training camp, and everybody hyping up Tyler Boyd, John Ross was a forgotten man... not anymore! Ross had 7 receptions for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss to the Seahawks. The stat that I really like though is the 12 targets. Cincy will be trailing often this season, making Ross's role important throughout the season. It will be interesting to see what happens when AJ Green comes back.
