McDonald's Is Launching The Chicken Big Mac October 10th

McDonald's is launching its Chicken Big Mac sandwich on October 10, nationwide for a limited time, with the help of a popular online streamer.

If you're of a certain age like me, a fond childhood memory is trying to say the famous McDonald's Big Mac ingredients list as fast as you could, without messing up. You remember... "Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun!" Or something like that.

Well, they've been singing that song for a long time.

However, folks all over the country will be singing a new tune for at least a while. McDonald's announced this week that the mega-chain is offering a new twist on their most popular sandwich. The Chicken Big Mac will hit Micky D's nationwide beginning next Thursday, October 10. Many foodies were hoping for the return of the Double Big Mac from last fall, but it was not to be. According to USA Today, The Chicken Big Mac was previously tested in international markets, including the U.K., and also tested in Miami in 2022, with great success.

Here's What You Get

The new sandwich swaps out the two all-beef patties on the traditional Big Mac for a pair of tempura battered chicken patties. Otherwise, the ingredients and toppings are the same: the Big Mac bun, Big Mac sauce, cheese, lettuce, and pickle slices. Tempura batter is not something American McDonald's chains have used much in the past, although it has some applications in Asian McDonald's franchises.

The USA Today article cited a surprise appearance in Los Angeles last weekend at the Chain pop-up dining experience as one of the menu items from a chain known as "McDonnell's," McDonald's said in a press release. Dining attendees were not told the restaurant's menu items were made by McDonald's, but some tasters were familiar with the sandwich's ingredients, the company said.

The Chicken Big Mac Is Getting A Boost From A Social Media Sensation

Meanwhile, online streaming star Kai Cenat will be helping to promote the new Chicken Big Mac with live appearances on McDonald's social media platforms, including Instagram .
