Weekend Vibes, What’s Happening In Southwest Florida Jan 6-8. It's the first full weekend of the New Year and by all indications Southwest Floridians are ready say good bye to 2022. Coming off a short work week, and for some, a long holiday break, the weekend is looking quite appealing.
Artists from around the country and around the world will be in Southwest Florida this weekend for numerous art shows
In addition, this weekend kicks off the season of art fairs and festivals across Southwest Florida. The weather is getting cooler and it's expected to be sunny. However, the rest of the country is getting punished by winter weather. The artists, just like the snow birds, flock south, setting up tents full of their creative works. You'll find several such events listed below. These are great for the entire family and you don't have to spend any money if you don't want to,
Also happening this weekend in Southwest Florida
The boat show is back in downtown Fort Myers. It was originally scheduled for November but was one of the many events rescheduled due to Hurricane Ian. Some 130 vendors will be there along the streets and also set up in The Caloosa Sound Convention Center. If your boat was lost or damaged in the hurricane, you might be able to get some help here
We understand that just because it is a new year does not mean some of the old challenges disappear. Many businesses in Southwest Florida are still closed and many people still without a place to live due to Hurricane Ian. However, more and more are opening. Downtown Fort Myers Art Walk
It's not just the boat show in downtown Fort Myers this weekend. On Friday night, it's also Art Walk. Most of the action is along First Street. Local artists display works and many galleries have live action and special exhibits.
50th Annual Fort Myers Boat Show
Every year, this boat show takes over downtown Fort Myers as the larges of it's kind on Florida's west coast. Some 500 boats will be on hand. It runs through Sunday. The entrance is on Bay Street next to the post office.
Downtown Naples New Years Art Fair
On Naples' beautiful 5th Avenue South, this annual art show begins at 10am both Saturday and Sunday and runs through 5pm. It features artists from around the country with everything from paintings to clothing. Shops and restaurants are open as well

Snowbird Festival Arts and Crafts Fair
This one is in Gilchrist Park in Punta Gorda on Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 4pm. Welcome Snowbirds indeed!
Estero Fine Arts Show
This art show takes place at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers. JetBlue is east of I-75 on Daniels. It's where the Red Sox play for spring training. The show runs both Saturday and Sunday from 10-5.
