Earth Day may be behind us. However, April is Earth Month and you will find a few lingering activities. There is a special sensory event at Naples Botanical Gardens. It is geared towards people with special needs and on the autism spectrum.
Theater goers are buzzing at the opening of a Broadway smash musical Hamilton. Tickets for some nights are hard to come by. However, there is an inexpensive hack that we'll let you in on when you scroll down.

If you love sports, you will be happy to know the calendar has baseball and hockey events too. It is a bonanza of activity for semiprofessional play. First, the Florida Everblades take to the ice in the Kelly Cup Championship playoffs. The team is looking for a three-peat. They've won the championship for the last two years in a row.
In addition, the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are at home in Hammond Stadium. The games always have a theme and something fun for the entire family.

Dinosaur Adventure
Dinosaurs come to life at this interactive and educational adventure. There are all kinds of displays, exhibits, activities and even dino-scooters and Jurassic Jeeps. If you love these prehistoric creatures, you will enjoy this event. Dinosaur Adventure is Saturday and Sunday at the Lee Civic Center in North Fort Myers. Doors open at 8am. Tickets start at $26. FloFest
It's the third year for this big reggae music festival in Port Charlotte. There is a long line up of artist for the day long event. The party is at the Charlotte County Fair Grounds Saturday from Noon to 8pm. Chairs and blankets permitted but no coolers. Tickets start at $30. . More info here.
Vietnam Memorial Wall
You don't have to travel to Washington DC to see the Vietnam Memorial. A 360-foot-long replica is at Lakes Park in Fort Myers this weekend. The moving wall travels around the country, honoring veterans and their families. It's free to visit, however, you will have to pay to park. More info here.
Hamilton
The Broadway show everyone has been talking about has arrived in SWFL. The musical “Hamilton” sets the biographical story about Alexander Hamilton, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and the other founding fathers of the United States to current day music. The show runs through May 5 at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers. Tickets start at $52. RUSH tickets are also available for $39.28 day of show. More info here.
Sensory Saturday at Naples Botanical Garden
This special event is for families and people living on the autism spectrum disorder or who have other similar sensory processing needs. There are a variety of activities in a calm environment. Space is limited and reservations must be made. It's from 4pm to 6pm Saturday at Naples Botanical Garden on Bayshore Drive. There will be another on May 11th if you can't make this one. Florida Everblades Kelly Cup Playoffs
Cheer on the Florida Everblades hockey team as they seek yet another Kelly Cup Championship. The first round of playoff games is under way and the blades are at home this weekend in Hertz Arena. They take on the Jacksonville Icemen Friday and Saturday. More info here.
Mighty Mussels
The Might Mussels baseball team is at home this weekend. They take on the Palm Beach Cardinals. Friday is Collier County Schools and First Responders night. There are fireworks after the game as well. Saturday is Lee County night and bark in the park. Sunday it's all about the kids. There is special pricing for some of these events as well.
