
It’s that time of the week again. Shemon and Sheppard Wednesday Wisdom Fun Facts for 11/2 at 5:30pm. Most of you know by now that this is one of our most fun segments of the week. 1990 – The Phoenix Suns defeated the Utah Jazz 119-96 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Japan in the first regular season game played outside North America by any major professional sports league. The teams also met the next night in Tokyo, with the Jazz winning 102-101.
1995 – Florida State had won its first 29 ACC games since joining the conference in 1992, but a trip to Virginia ended the streak. Tiki Barber rushed for 193 yards and Florida State’s Warrick Dunn was stopped just short of the goal line as time expired to give the Cavaliers a 33-28 win.
1995 – The Yankees name Joe Torre manager. He leads the Yankees to 5 AL pennants and 4 World Series Championships over the next 7 seasons.
2016 – Cubs come back from 3-1 World Series deficit to beat Indians and win Game 7 in 10 innings, winning their first World Series since 1908.
