Fall officially arrives this weekend, in spite of what the thermometer might say. Meteorologist says it is looking mostly good for peace and wine this weekend in Southwest Florida. Here are your Weekend Vibes for September 22nd-24th. The "peace" piece of the puzzle is the 16th Annual SWFL Peace Festival with a new location in downtown Fort Myers.

About the wine this weekend and more

In Naples there is a wine tasting event to benefit animals and Snip Collier. It is also the last full week for Sizzle Dining Restaurant Week. More info on both below. In addition, it is the last weekend for you to take advantage of free tolls to cross the Sanibel Causeway. The Collaboratory has been picking up the tab on Sundays to encourage locals to get out and support businesses that have finally reopened after Hurricane Ian. This weekend they are waving the $6 toll for Saturday too to help increase participation in the annual Island Hopper Singer Songwriter Festival.

Some of the first Halloween related events open this weekend. It's all about the kids with the annual Friendly Forrest at Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium. Scroll down for more information.

Wine Around The Water

Drink wine and support animals at this event taking place Saturday Village Shops on Venetian Bay. Sip wine from many of the shops and restaurants, stroll along the water. Many business are also offering special discounts to all participants. Proceeds benefit Snip Collier, which provides affordable spaying and neutering, vaccines and more in Collier County. It's from 5pm-7pm, $20

SWFL Peace Festival

It's the 16th year for this festival and the venue has changed because of Hurricane Ian damage at Wa-Ka-Hatchee Park. This year, there is a community block party downtown Fort Myers surrounding CasaShanti, the House of Peace. Cottage Street is closed for the event. Enjoy vendors, food and music. Participate in meditation, yoga, drum circle and food drive. The festival is Sunday from  10am- 6pm  2052 Cottage St

Sizzle Dining Restaurant Week

This is the last week to take advantage of great restaurant deals in the annual Sizzle Dining Week. Some of the best restaurants in Southwest Florida  have put together fantastic pre-fix lunch and dinner menus. They are outstanding values and best of all, proceeds benefit Blessings in a Backpack. The event funs through the 27th.

Friendly Forrest

The Friendly Forrest returns this weekend to the Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium in Fort Myers. The first Halloween event of the season features all kinds of kid friendly activities such as games, face painting. crafts, and more. The main attraction is the nature walk and pumpkin patch. Food trucks will also be on site. Saturday and Sunday 10am-4pm. $10 admission. $5 for ages 3-12, under 3 free.

Opening Of Hairspray

The fun musical Hairspray opens at Broadway Palm Dinner Theater in Fort Myers. This 1960s themed Broadway show won eight Tony Awards. Opening is this weekend but it runs through October 28.  Tickets start at $30

Southwest Wedding & Event Expo

If you have a wedding or special event coming up, this expo is for you. It is full of local vendors, businesses and services that can help you in planning your big day or event. It's at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center in Punta Gorda Sunday 12-4. Free admission and free parking
