Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies from Orlando are stationed this week on Fort Myers Beach. One of their jobs is to watch out for looters. While on patrol, they were flagged down by a resident of Fort Myers Beach who noticed something suspicious about some men in a house nearby. The men arrived in a work van with a temporary magnet on the side. When deputies approached the crew, four men were found inside looting the home. One man was acting as a lookout. I kind of thought the job of a lookout is to pay attention so you don’t get caught. Apparently no one explained the rules to this guy.

The magnet on the side of the vehicle was from a made up business. Additionally, and  this is where the story takes a twist. Because – the suspects are from Orlando. Busted by deputies – likewise from Orlando.  They all made the 4 hour drive for this chance meeting on Fort Myers Beach. All five were placed under arrest for burglary and grand theft and turned over to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Hurricane Ian completely devastated Fort Myers Beach. It takes some real low class people to take advantage in a situation like this. The looters are actually lucky they only ended up being arrested. it could have ended much worse for these scumbags. I’m sure Carmine will treat them well.

And one last thing. If you’re pretending to be on a work crew, maybe not show up in flip flops. Idiot.
