NFL Quarterbacks Under the Most Pressure

NFL Quarterbacks under the most pressure in 2022

There are plenty of quarterbacks under pressure entering the 2022 season. Craig Shemon rattled off a list of 16 quarterbacks under pressure this year. But he didn't rank them, and that's pretty lame. So I have taken his good idea and turned it into a great idea. NFL Quarterbacks under the most pressure-power ranked. The biggest problem with Craig's list was including the 2nd year quarterbacks. Now, I'm not saying they're not under pressure. But, they way the rookie contract are structured, it's very rare for a guy not to see year 3. For that reason I'm writing off Mac Jones, Zach Wilson, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields, and Davis Mills. Trey Lance is on the list though. My thought process there is the same pressure Mac jones had last year. Handed the keys to a very good franchise that has has real expectations.

There are 3 different buckets, or categories of pressure. The first is trying to save his job with his current team. The second is trying to save his career as a starter in the league period. And the final type of pressure is proving you're the long term answer. I don't know if the number of quarterbacks under pressure is this high every year. It might be a good exercise moving forward. But in all reality this will probably be a one time deal and the door will get closed on this forever.

So. Craig said there are 16 NFL quarterbacks under pressure in 2022, but we will look at the NFL Quarterbacks under the most pressure in 2022. Here we go, 10-1.

Dan Campbell doesn't like him, but there're no better options on the roster.

9. Baker Mayfield

If it doesn't work with Carolina, then who knows where his career goes from here.

Copy and paste Baker Mayfield here.

7. Drew Lock

The Seattle Seahawks are stuck between the glory days of the Legion of Boom and whatever is next for the franchise. If Drew Lock can win enough games to keep the Seahawks out of the Bryce young/CJ Stroud sweepstakes, then he might be able to hang around for another season.

6. Jamies Winston

He can be the long term answer at QB in New Orleans if he can stay healthy and not turn the ball over.

5. Trey Lance

The last guy got the 9ers to the NFC Championship game 2 of the last 3 seasons. That's a pretty high bar to have to clear.

4. Carson Wentz

3rd team in 3 years. If not in Washington, then Carson has exhausted all of his options as a starter in this league.

3. Jalen Hurts

The Eagles have given Jalen Hurts all of the weapons to succeed. Now it's on him.

2. Daniel Jones

The GM and coach that drafted him are gone. His 5th year option was not picked up by the team, so he will either be a free agent or get franchise tagged at the end of the year.

1. Tua Tagovailoa

The Fins brought in Tyreek Hill and Cedrick Wilson. Added Terran Armstead and Connor Williams. Hired offensive minded head coach Mike McDaniel. He has all the weapons. Time to put up or shut up.
