The last weekend of 2023 is here. How are you going to ring in the New Year in Fort Myers, Naples, Bonita Springs, Cape Coral and Punta Gorda? Perhaps you have friends and family in town and are looking to get them out of the house. If that is the case, there are so many ways to have some New Years weekend fun in Southwest Florida and we've got your connection. Here are your Weekend Vibes for December 29th through 31st.

New Years Weekend in Southwest Florida

This weekend we are looking forward to 2024. If you are looking for some big celebrations, to ring in the New Year on Sunday evening, click here. In addition, almost every Southwest Florida community has some kind of fireworks display on Sunday. Scroll down for those details.

The weekend may culminate in a big ball drop at midnight and lots of Champagne popping, but there is certainly more leading up to the big night.

For instance, there are still some annual holiday events that you can catch. It's still fun to see some of the elaborate light displays in their final days. They are entertaining and fun for all ages. Some of these interactive light displays include the Calusa Nature Center Holiday Lights in Fort Myers, Night Lights in the Garden in Naples and the Bonita Holiday Fair in Bonita Springs.

New Year's Fireworks

There are fireworks displays almost every community of Southwest Florida. Many celebraions include bands and ball drops too. All of these take place Sunday evening.

  • Fort Myers:  6pm on Bay Street downtown
  • Cape Coral: 6pm on Southeast 47th Terrace
  • Fort Myers Beach: 7pm  Times Square 
  • Naples: 6pm Naples Beach Pier
  • Punta Gorda: 6pm Fishermen’s Village 

New Year's Art Festival

This annual event is at Coconut Point Mall in Estero. More than 100 artists who works that include sculptures and paintings, photography and jewelry,  and lots more. Saturday and Sunday 10-5. Free. More info here.

Bonita Holiday Fair

It's the last weekend for this holiday festival that features amusement rides, a pettng zoo, holiday displays, games, music, food and more. It runs through January 1st. Admission costs vary. Bonita Springs Poker Room, Bonita Beach Road. More info here

Calusa Nature Center Holiday Lights

This one wraps up on Saturday. The outdoor walking trail at the Calusa Nature Center in Fort Myers is adorned with Christmas lights. There is also a holiday laser show in the planetarium for a seperate fee.  $10, $5 for ages 3-12. More info here.

Fisherman's Village Festival Of Lights

This annual event runs through New Year's Eve. It features more than a million lights at Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda. Shuttles are available, Free. More info here.

Night Lights In The Garden

Magic of Lights at the Collier County Fair Ground runs through New Year's Eve. The grounds are alive with two million lights in all kinds of holiday displays. Best part is, you drive through the displays including an Enchanting Tunnel of Lights. There are life sized dinosaurs and a 32-foot-tall animated Mattel’s Waving Christmas Barbie®. There are activities outside of your car as well.  Tickets start at $18.50. More info here.

'Elvis: A Musical Revolution'

It's opening weekend for The official Elvis Presley “bio-musical” at Broadway Palm Dinner Theater in Fort Myers. The show features some of the King of Rock and Roll's most famos songs such as “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Hound Dog,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” and “Jailhouse Rock.” The show runs through February 17. During that time, she has become an advocate for numerous charities including those that support animals, children, women and wellness.
