In Phoenix, Super Bowl 57 Is Only A Few Days Away: Here are some Hot Reporters covering the game. As part of our ongoing Super Bowl coverage.
Over the past 10 days we have been breaking down all things revolving around the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. Here are a few more fun facts about the game. Later I will be posting who I believe to be the 10 hottest reporters covering the game. You don't want to miss this!
Fun Facts for Super Bowl 57 in Phoenix
Mahomes Excellent No Matter the Coverage
The Eagles have been pretty evenly split between playing man and zone coverage this season, using zone on 54% of their opponent dropbacks and man on 46%. That shouldn’t make a difference for Patrick Mahomes, as the Chiefs signal-caller is the only QB in the league to rank top-3 vs both man and zone coverage.
Chiefs RBs Could Cause Problems in the Passing Game
One area where Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts have excelled this season is screen passes, as both rank 1-2 in the NFL this season in QBR on screens.
As it pertains to Mahomes specifically, he’s been the best on screen passes since becoming the Chiefs starter in 2018 and it really hasn’t been close. Since 2018 including playoffs, Mahomes has 31 TD passes on screens — that’s a whopping 20 more than the next-closest QB in Aaron Rodgers.
How The Philadelphia Eagles Can Move The Ball
Eagles Can Challenge Chiefs’ Efficiency with Pre-Snap Motion
One of the Chiefs’ favorite tendencies is pre-snap motion. Kansas City uses motion at the 4th-highest rate in the league, and Patrick Mahomes has the 2nd-highest QBR with motion. In the Super Bowl they’ll face an Eagles defense that has excelled against plays with pre-snap motion.
Hurts Could Excel Between the Numbers
Jalen Hurts could look to attack the Chiefs defense between the numbers on Super Bowl Sunday. This season Hurts has been excellent throwing in the middle of the field, ranking top-5 in QBR, yards per attempt and first down rate including the playoffs. The Chiefs defense on the other hand ranks 28th in opponent QBR on throws between the numbers.
More on all of this later today on Shemon and Sheppard 2-6pm. Now here are in no particular order some of the hottest reporters covering the game on Sunday. Enjoy!
