Shemon & Sheppard – In The Afternoon

Weekdays 2pm-6pm

We are through Thanksgiving 2022 and that means that it’s time to get serious about the NFL season.  One immediate observation:   Entire NFC East playoff bound !  Think about that for a moment.  The Eagles are the best of the best.  The Cowboys are red hot.  The Giants are surprisingly good and the Commanders have racked enough wins to be above the fray.

It also appears that the frenzy for NFL football is as strong as ever.  41 million people watched the early Thanksgiving game in Detroit between the Lions and the Bills.  The Cowboys – Giants game that followed drew a record 43 million viewers.

By the time Sunday rolled around, an injured Aaron Rodgers gave way to an impressive Jordan Love, although he did not have enough time to overcome Jalen Hurts’ historic performance where he rushed for 100 yards in the first quarter.

One other fun fact that not enough people are talking about:  The 49ers defense is spectacular.  They shut out the Saints.  It was the fourth straight game they did not allow a point in the second half.

We will hash things out and see if the entire NFC East is playoff bound.

So it is time for us to evaluate everyone and rank them again with the Shemon and Sheppard NFL Power Rankings on ESPN Southwest Florida.

The Price of Beer at Every NFL Stadium

The 2022 NFL Season is upon us and it’s time to plan those game day trips. And beer is part of that budget. Maybe you plan to catch a game at an out of town stadium? Maybe I’m in Estero and every NFL stadium is out of town for me? That’s actually a lot more true. How much is an Uber round trip to Tampa?

So what about grabbing a beer at an out of town ballpark? Por que no los dos? But how much is it? Every year, sports business data firm Team Marketing Report releases its NFL Fan Cost Index and what they found, the price of beer varies greatly across the stadiums. Statista has really good data on this, too.  And the price of a beer seems to be totally unrelated to how good the team is. A beer at a Jaguars game is double what they charge in Cincinnati at a Bengals game.. They could charge more. The Dolphins charge $11 which is why I show up drunk.

Maybe a lower priced option should be available? The Washington Commanders have no business charging for beer at all. They should make beer free to anyone willing to buy a ticket. And the beer should be brought to me. With peanuts. Enough with the conjecture. Let’s analyze the price of beer at each of the NFL stadiums. Keep in mind that inflation is running pretty hot and I’m writing this on August 4th. They may raise the prices even more.

Pretty simple, team name, price for a small draft beer (or smallest and cheapest beer available), fun picture.
