Joe Namath is 80 years old today. Does that make you feel old? It probably does! Namath, predicted a win over the Colts in Super Bowl III, delivered on his promise, and became a legend.

Joe Namath, or Broadway Joe, seemed bigger than life when he helped the Jets and the upstart AFL to legitimacy by winning the Super Bowl. The New York media loved his bigger-than-life personality. He seemed to enjoy the attention as well. Plus it benefitted him after his playing career was done. He made many TV and movie appearances and, for awhile, was part of the Monday Night Football broadcast team.
