I think it's time for a not-too-early- college basketball quiz. Even though March Madness is several weeks away, I stumbled across this fun fact: On this day in 1896 the first ever five-on-five college basketball game was played. Five guys from the University of Iowa invited five students from the University of Chicago to come over for an experimental game. The kids from Chicago must have understood the rules pretty well because they beat Iowa 15-12. Maybe it was because Iowa didn't have a crazy Fran McCaffrey-type coach screaming at everybody. But I digress.
However, since college basketball is well into its conference schedules, it's time to take a closer look at college hoops.
So, during Wiki-Pete-ia on the Shemon and Sheppard Show on ESPN Southwest Florida, we will execute a college basketball quiz of sorts. We play Wiki-Pete-ia every weekday at 4:45 against caller number nine at 239-337-3776 / 239-337-ESPN. But for those of you who can't get through, I like to post these questions. Now, you may play against your friends and family and impress them all with your infinite knowledge!
We will examine current rankings for 2023 and take a look back down memory lane with some of the game's greats. You also know, because of me, there will be a question or two about Indiana University. Therefore, get ready for a not-too-early college basketball quiz on Wiki-Pete-ia. Good Luck!
