All attention this week is turning to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. I'm invited to a Big Game party at the home of a friend in Fort Myers who cares more about the food than football. You probably have one of those friends, or perhaps you ARE that friend. I'm trying to come up with a different dish to contribute to the soiree rather than my usual. Of course I turned to social media for some new ideas and inspiration and want to share them with you too. Here are 5 easy party foods for big game gatherings in SWFL this weekend and for TikTok Tuesday.
Football party food ideas
Supermarkets are loaded with all kinds of snacks and game day goodies. Sure you can pick up a bag of chips and a pre-made dip. Or maybe bringing the booze is your contribution. However, at some point it is nice to have something a little more substantial to eat. It doesn't have to be all junk either.
If you are looking to make some healthful snacks for your party, here are some I posted for New Years. However, they are good for all year long and for all occasions. In addition, I've put together five videos that stood out in my foodie feeds this week for even more inspiration. If you don't have a TikTok account, don't worry. We will use mine. Scroll down and hit play from this post. The videos are office friendly and easy to share with co-workers and friends. Here are 5 easy party foods for big game gatherings in SWFL this weekend. Check them out.
Football Cheeseball
This is creative and cool. First of all, cheese is a staple for football parties. It is served on trays, in hot dips and on sandwiches. However, this is different and it looks easy to execute. You will definitely get some high fives for presentation. Taste too.
Tater Tot Skewers
This is brilliant. Why haven't I thought about this or seen it at a party. Almost everyone likes tater tots and this preparation requires no utensils to eat. You could doctor these up with your favorite toppings too.
Slow Cook Corn Dip
Dips are quintessential to big game parties and there are all kinds. I like the idea of throwing everything into a crock pot and forgetting about it. This is different as it is inspired by the flavors of street corn. I doubt this will be repeated at your party so it will stand out. Don't forget the chips or even celery for dipping.
Crispy Mini Tacos
Who doesn't love a good taco. This taco has a twist. A couple of them. First they use the mini tortilla's so they are small and easy to handle. Next, they are fried crisp. Not only does it add nice texture but it also makes then a little less messy. Add all kinds of ingredients and have fun.
Football Dessert
This is very similar to the first video, the football cheeseball. However, this is the sweet version. I can almost guarantee you wont see a double on the food table. And, no party is complete without something sweet. The execution looks pretty easy and you can surround the dip with all kinds of fruit, cookies and similar goodies.
