white table cloth reading Naples Own Dog Treats. Top of table llined wtih bags of dog food.

Have you seen that television commercial where a family member or love interest opens the refrigerator and picks up an item. They look over their shoulder and ask in a disgusted tone "Is this dog food? In your refrigerator?" This Fabulous Find is for pet owners who prefer real food over the processed kind. If you can't afford the high-end brands on a daily basis, perhaps you can splurge on healthful snacks. Check out these unique dog treats at Southwest Florida farmers markets. I discovered them at Lakes Park in Fort Myers. They're from Naples Own Top Dog Kitchen.

What makes the unique dog treats so special

First, these treats start with a variety of USDA grade meats. Next, they are dehydrated into chewy bites. That's it. Nothing more is added. There are no grains, meat by-products, sugar, etc.  Not only are they said to be better for you pet's general health, but also ideal for dogs suffering from some allergies.

Canines can even develop allergies to chicken and beef. But it is most often sparked by ingredients that are often bundled with beef and chicken treats. Next, Top Dog also has dried lamb lung and lamb based foods. Lamb is said to by hypoallergenic for dogs. In addition, dogs and cats are not immune to diabetes. There is a line of Top Dog baked treats suitable for diabetic dogs.

Finally, and perhaps most unique, are the antler chews. They come from Grade A deer, elk and moose. Some are cut in half length-wise to expose the bone marrow. They also come in variety of sizes. Smaller pups are not left out. Look for Top Dog Kitchen products in several local retailers as wells as farmers market. The website has a list of locations.
