The biggest restaurant event of the year in Southwest Florida is on its home stretch. Before reaching the finish line, I'm going in for a few more meals. Here is a peek at my Sizzle Dining stop at Blanc in Fort Myers.
Blanc is a small, cozy spot in a shopping center at the corner of Cypress Lake Drive and McGregor Blvd. The restaurant has changed ownership within the last year but much of the kitchen staff is the same. And they are doing some great things.
About Sizzle Dining In Southwest Florida
This regional dining event is intended to support local restaurants during what is traditionally the slowest time of the year for them. To lure diners, more than 100 restaurants all over Southwest Florida are offering pre-fix menus ranging from $19 to $59 for two, three and four-course meals.
So far, I've had lunch at Bicyclette Cookshop in Naples, and I still think about that dessert. Photos and more info here. Also, Stones Throw in Cape Coral. Those photos and menu info are here. Finally, Taberna Ole in Fort Myers. More on that one here.
Sizzle Dining Stop At Blanc And The Menu
For dinner, Blanc is offering 3-courses for $39. It was a lot of food and it was outstanding.
I like that the last course was an entree rather than a dessert. Dessert is still available, just as an extra charge. They also offered a wine-based cocktail special for Sizzle Dining. Take a look at the menu.
There were so many great options here. Always be sure to read the fine print on these menus. I almost missed the deal right under "THIRD". It is for Blanc's signature Skull Island Prawns. The cost to add one onto any entree is almost half of what it typically is.

Fire Roasted Artichoke Fritters
Blanc 75
This is a special Sizzle Dining cocktail at Blanc, a riff on the classic French 75. It has wine based gin, blood orange syrup and Champagne. It was fantastic with the spice on the artichoke fritters. The cocktail is an additional $8.
French Onion Soup
Barramundi Asian Sea Bass
This fish was cooked perfectly at Blanc. It had lots of savory herbs that matched the creamy risotto. The plate was finished with basil lime coulis.
Rosemary Garlic Lamb Lollipops
Rosemary Garlic Lamb Lollipops were one of the entree selections for Sizzle Dining and they were cooked to perfection. Beware, you might want to pick them up and gnaw every last bit off of the bone. They came with a generous portion of Blanc's famous miso Brussel Sprouts.
Grilled Skull Island Prawn
This a signature at Blanc. You can order them solo or as an add on. For Sizzle Dining you can add one to any dish for $15. As you can see, it's more like a small lobster than a shrimp.
