Cowboys and Lions Trending in Different Directions

The Cowboys and Lions meet tonight for Thursday Night Football on Prime. These two teams are heading in different directions and the loser may be out of the playoff chase. The Cowboys are 6-5-1 and the Lions, a team that went 15-2 last year are struggling at 7-5. Going into the season many thought the Lions would be a lock to make the playoffs while the Cowboys would struggle to be a wild card team if they made the playoffs at all.

Now Dak Prescott and his receivers Cee Dee Lamb and George Pickens are among the hottest offenses in the NFL. And with the Lions injured secondary the Cowboys are looking to add up some big passing numbers. For Detroit the defensive injuries aren't their only worry. Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown injured his ankle in Thanksgiving Day's loss to the Packers.

COWBOYS AND LIONS

These teams played on Thanksgiving so this is a rare Thursday meeting where both teams had a full week to get ready before enjoying a mini-bye after tonight. But Dallas has all the confidence in the world as they recently beat the Chiefs and Eagles in statement games.

the Lions have lost 2 of their last 3 and they have suffered losses to teams with quarterbacks like JJ McCarthy and Jameis Winston. Coming off last week's loss to the Packers we should note the Lions have not lost back to back games since October 2022. They need a big bounce back performance tonight. But without St. Brown and tight end Sam LaPorta that could be tough.
