Construction is moving ahead on the $265 million renovation of Doak Campbell Stadium. This project needs to be finished before Florida State takes on Alabama in their season opener on Aug. 30.
Crews have begun updating the lower bowl seating areas on both sides of the field. The upgrades include a new student section, luxury viewing areas, and needed structural improvements.
"It's extremely important to make sure that we're continuously trying to improve, whether it's with our student-athletes, and they're seeing what we're doing and how we're progressing and getting better and making sure that we also keep the fan experience at that level," Florida State Athletic Director Michael Alford told The Tallahassee Democrat.
Spring events will be impacted as renovations continue. FSU had to cancel its spring game while work pushes ahead toward finishing in late summer 2025.
The renovations mean some longtime ticket holders must give up seats their families have held for generations. New seating layouts come with higher prices in certain sections.
