The Houston Texans travel to New Jersey to face the spooky Jets on Halloween. Jets fans have witnessed a horror show since former great quarterback Aaron Rodgers arrived last year. His 2023 season lasted four plays before he suffered a season-ending injury.

2024 hasn't been any better with Rodgers on the team. He skipped mandatory mini-camp because his vacation schedule was more important than the team. There was a lot of awkwardness between Rodgers and now former head coach Robert Saleh, whom some feel Rodgers got fired. Remember the awkward non hug - high five after the Jets scored a touchdown. There was the hard-count fiasco where Saleh said they would eliminate it in certain situations and the next day Rodgers suggested that the team coach the situation better.

Rodgers has done a lot of finger pointing at teammates and really doesn't seem to take much blame.

SPOOKY JETS ON HALLOWEEN

And there is this: The Spooky Jets on Halloween will enter the game against the Texans with a scary 2-6 record. Along the way they lost to a lot of good teams like the 49ers, Vikings, Bills and Steelers. But their two wins were against a couple of the worst teams in football, the Titans and Patriots.

The good news for the Jets is the hardest part of their schedule is over. They still have a couple of dates against the Dolphins coming up. And they still have the Colts and Jaguars coming up.

If you ask me, the Jets will finish with a losing record, Rodgers retires at the end of the season and everybody can get on with their lives. For the latest NFL talk and analysis tune in each weekday to Craig Shemon and Company on ESPN Southwest Florida from 2-6pm.
