Halloween is here, a time for all things spooky, and 1 Florida city has been named best to be a witch.
Being a witch is like living in a world where the ordinary meets the extraordinary. From brewing potions by day in a cozy cottage in a bubbling cauldron to roaming the enchanted woods and gathering with fellow witches under the moonlight. There are so many fun Halloween movies about witches from The Witches, Hocus Pocus, The Witches of Eastwick and more. But we all know they're works of fiction. But if you've ever wondered where in America witches would be the most welcome, BetMGM put together a list and on it, is 1 Florida city.
1 Florida City Is Best To Be A Witch
To compile the list of the best cities to be a witch, BetMGM looked at a variety of witchy factors like the number of broom shops, the percentage of residents self-identifying as Wiccan or Pagan, number of metaphysical supply stores for potion ingredients and crystals, number of psychics and mediums, number of cottages and number of cemeteries just to name a few. They also looked at online search interest in things in pop culture like Harry Potter, Wicked, and American Horror Story: Coven.
Right here in the Sunshine State, 1 Florida city made the list. And that city is one of my favorites: Sarasota. The Gulf coast city came in 2nd place on the list with a score of 57.3. According to the data, the city has a thriving spiritual community with 14.54 astrology groups per 100k and 6.51 psychics and mediums per 100k. The city also has a high number of cottages, 31.29 per 100k.
Other cities in the top 5 include: Poughkeepsie, NY (#1), Charleston, SC (#3), Greenville, SC (#4) and Colorado Springs, CO (#5).
