Halloween isn't even here yet, but a special holiday event has already being announced for the upcoming season. One of the most beloved holiday events across America is the Magic of Lights, which visits a handful of cities in the country each season. This event has been taking place for the past few years, and it's been a success, so they're bringing it back to Florida this season.

Florida Holiday Light Event for 2024

I've wanted to attend Magic of Lights for years now but haven't made it out. I'm determined to do it this year. I've seen photos from the event before, and they look so magical. The entire area is filled with glowing holiday lights, and it's just super festive. It's a drive-through event, so you and your family are in your car and drive through the beautiful displays. It's also one of the biggest events of its kind in the state. While many areas have this type of holiday event, Magic of Lights tends to hit bigger markets, so it packs more of a holiday punch.

According to the Magic of Lights website, the display will open at the Paradise Coast Sports Complex located in Naples, Florida. The event will run between Nov. 22 through Jan. 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. If you're looking for something to do for the holidays, it could make for a new tradition. Let's face it, not much is open when the holidays get close, so this could be the perfect activity. Tickets are "on sale soon."

Last year's event featured steel displays that were "designed, bent, cut and welded into about 800 frames that are combined in different configurations to create each show's giant winter holiday scenes. Each frame of each scene is designed using the latest CAD technology and hand built in-house from 15 pages of design specifications each." Last year's event also used roughly 10 miles of steel to build the displays and 10 miles of LED lighting installed inside the displays, there are 10 different colors of LED bulbs used in the shows.

"Magic of Lights is a dazzling, drive-through holiday lights experience featuring favorite holiday scenes and characters of the season using the latest LED technology and digital animations," they state of the holiday light event. "Experience Magic of Lights from the comfort and safety of your own car as you wind through the sparkling path of Naples’s new holiday tradition. One carload, one price."
