August 30th is Jimmy Buffett Day in the state of Florida. The king of tropical rock passed away last year at the age of 76. However, his music and lifestyle legacy lives on. Here is the scoop on some of the plans to celebrate Jimmy Buffett Day in Fort Myers and Naples.
Margaritaville Resorts and hotels in Southwest Florida are gearing up for several days of special events. There are also some deals on overnight stays.
“This day and weekend are being planned in the spirit of Jimmy as we strive to emulate his good nature, kindness and spirit of fun in all we do,” said Liz Morris, area director of sales and marketing.
That means instead of just Margaritas, tequila shots and music, the celebration will highlight Buffett's spirit of giving back. And not just locally. Jimmy Buffett Day is becoming an annual day of service at Margaritaville properties nationwide with community fundraising initiatives.
