Whenever I want a quick bite to eat, and I'm on the go, I always grab a RaceTrac pizza slice. It's a Florida favorite of mine and honestly should be respected as a great achievement in fast food pizza. It's quick and it's actually good. But you still gotta pay for it! That's why this story of RaceTrac pizza abuse had me shaking my head…
According to FOX35, a man named Ronald Broaddus, was clearly not a fan of paying for his food. Because the 62-year-old decided to grab himself a slice of pizza and some frozen yogurt from a RaceTrac gas station in Palm Coast. Now, why'd he do it? According to the police, our guy, Ronald, was just tired from work and flat broke.

So, what does a hungry man do? He strolls into the gas station, grabs his grub, and heads out like he's got no worries in the world. But the RaceTrac employee wasn't about to let Ronald pull a fast one. They confronted him outside, but Ronald wasn't feeling it. He tried to say he did pay, but with two witnesses inside backing up the employee, that lie didn't stick.
The situation got even spicier when Ronald decided to threaten the employee while ditching the pizza and yogurt. Yup, he told them to watch their backs because he was ready to throw hands. Then, he got on his bike and pedaled away like some kind of defiant pizza thief on wheels.
Now, RaceTrac wanted Ronald not only charged but also banned from their turf. So, the deputies tracked him down nearby, and Ronald, thinking he'd still have a chance to pay for the RaceTrac pizza later, found himself in cuffs instead.
RaceTrac Pizza Present:

To top it all off, right as he was getting hauled off, Ronald told the deputies he planned on returning to the RaceTrac to, ahem, leave a little "present" on the property. My dog also leaves little presents for me in my backyard daily. Just saying…
And now, Ronald's sitting in jail with a $1,000 bond, all over some buffalo chicken, RaceTrac pizza and frozen yogurt that would've cost him less than ten bucks. I guess sometimes, you really can't put a price on terrible decisions.
Three Southwest Florida Spots Made Yelp’s New List of Top 100 Florida Restaurants
Yelp is out with a new list. They rated the Top 100 Florida Restaurants of 2023 and Southwest Florida has 3 on the list. All in all, Fort Myers, Naples, and Fort Myers Beach made the list. It's actually pretty incredible since the Fort Myers beach restaurant that made the list just recently reopened since Hurricane Ian. It's a nice nod to them on the amazing progress they made in getting things up and running again.
The Yelp list " is based on our community’s ratings and reviews." So after someone eats at one of these establishments, they feel strongly enough about the experience to go online and express that. We'll get to the Top 10 of Florida in a bit, let's see where our local places stack up against the rest of the state in Yelp's list of Top 100 Florida Restaurants.
At number 57 is Uncle Rico's Pizza in Fort Myers. You can find them at 2960 Cleveland Avenue, just south of Lee Memorial. Yelp reviewers cannot stop raving about this place. More than one person referred to their pie as "perfect". That's what I want in a pizza place. Pepperoni knots, house special pizzas, and Jamaican Beef Patties are go-tos. According to their Insta, they reopen on Friday. Expect a crowd.
84. Organically Twisted, Naples
At Livingston and Pine Ridge in Naples, this is the spot for Vegan food.
100. Dixie Fish Co, Fort Myers Beach
Located on Fisherman's Wharf on Fort Myers Beach the DFC took heavy damage from Hurricane Ian and just reopened a month ago. From having a boat washed into your door to packed crowds just 5 months later. Good to have you back, this place is amazing.
